Season Calendar

The season includes both a split-season format from August through October 31 and a full-season program from November 1 through March 31. The team will also compete in the NAPHL showcase circuit, which is expected to include at least two tournaments

• Off-ice practice: 100+ hours
• Games: 55+ games
• Season dates: August 1–March 31

Season Kickoff
The season kickoff will include a pool party, food, and a coach presentation on Saturday, August 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

First Team Practice
The first combined on-ice and off-ice team practice is scheduled for August 3 and will mark the official start of the season.

Training Camp
Training camp will run for three days (Buffalo Wild Wings Arena), from Tuesday, August 18, through Thursday, August 20. Tentative daily sessions are scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

First Games
First games begin August 9

First Local Tournament: HockeyPaloza East
The first local tournament is HockeyPaloza East, scheduled for September 11–13. The tournament is expected to include five games.

Second Local Tournament: Detroit Early Bird
The second local tournament is the Detroit Early Bird, scheduled for September 18–20. The tournament is expected to include five games.

16U A State Championships
16U A State Championships are scheduled for October 16–26, 2025. Final dates, times, and tournament format will depend on the number of teams registered. The event may be played across multiple weekends. Location to be determined.

State Playoff eligibility requirements:

Players must complete 12 games in their classification.

Teams must complete 18 qualifying games to be eligible for 16U A State playoffs.

Qualifying games may include split-season teams, full-season teams, out-of-state teams, and Canadian teams at the equivalent level.

Games against Tier 1 or Tier 3 teams do not count toward the qualifying game total

Full-Season Transition to NAPHL
The full-season schedule transitions to the NAPHL on November 1. The team is listed as the Detroit Eagles for NAPHL league play and showcase tournaments.

Every team shall play four (4) games during Championship Weekend unless otherwise stated by the NAPHL.

Teams shall be seeded for the semi-finals based on season rankings and applicable NAPHL standings.

At the Championship Weekend, teams seeded 1 through 4 shall play for the NAPHL National Championship unless the event format provides otherwise.

Consolation games shall generally be scheduled as the highest seed vs. the next highest seed and so on. Where possible, matchups may be adjusted to allow teams to play opponents they did not meet in divisional round-robin play.

NAPHL West Classic: Toronto Tournament ( Dec 11^th )
The NAPHL West Classic will take place in Toronto as part of the showcase tournament schedule.

NAPHL Motor City Classic: Detroit (Feb 26^th)
The NAPHL Motor City Classic will take place in Detroit as part of the showcase tournament schedule.

NAPHL Championship Weekend: Ottawa (Mar 19^th)
The team may attend NAPHL Championship Weekend in Ottawa and play at least 4 games
